When asked to describe myself, I would say I am a mom, teacher, blogger, speaker, and author. But that describes more of what I do than of who I am. I am one who has a heart for every living thing—one who sees value in all of life and of the living. In whatever I do, I hope to encourage and affirm those around me.
I enjoy mothering, praying, cooking, writing, drinking coffee, being with family, hosting people in my home, walking my dog, gardening, photographing life, and bird-watching. Along with my Golden Retriever, Roger, I am part of a pet therapy team that brings smiles to those in need. I find beauty and value in the everyday and God’s love manifested in the little moments.
I have authored Who’s Sitting on Your Nest?: The Virtues of Stay-at-Home-Motherhood and and e-book, Good God: An Introduction to the God You’ve Never Heard About. I blog at denisemarottalopes.com and have been a freelance writer for the Cecil Whig and Explore Cecil magazine.
